I didn’t expect a seafood bar in Nijmegen, it is so far from the sea!
Lazy Penguin discovered a new seafood restaurant in Nijmegen and suggested to make a video. Trusting Lazy Penguin’s exceptional food nose, I said: Let’s do this!
Food & Menu
Captain Joe serves cold and hot sea food. We went for the cold dishes, so we don’t have much experience with the hot food. But hot lobster on Monday for 24,50 euro sounds good! (For more info about the cold food, please watch the video.)
Lazy Penguin also ordered two white wines with the seafood. ‘Senora Rosa Chardonnay’ and their home wine ‘Holy Cow’. The ‘Holy Cow’ was really nice with the seafood, not too bitter. I also took a sip.
After all the seafood we were okay full, so still place for a dessert. The dessert where little art pieces by themselves.
So I also made an art piece:
We went to the restaurant at 17:00, quite early for dinner, so we had the place for ourselves. After we were done with filming and eating the place was full with other customers and it was on a Monday!
Don’t forget to make a reservation if you want to eat around 18:00.
My verdict: really tasty and fresh seafood. I particularly liked the “chicken” vongoles and the razor shell salad. I was disappointed there was no cold lobster in the Fruits de Mer, so the next time I want to eat the hot lobster. Yes, that makes a lot of sense. Have a lovely day!

I proudly present my second foodvlog with Lazy Penguin. This time we visited a Vietnamese restaurant in Utrecht: Kimmade. Kimmade serves delicous snacks and meals at Kimmade Streetfood. About a month ago they have opened a bigger restaurant: Kimmade Food Village. Here you can sit down, relax and eat delicious food. They also serve alcohol, which they don’t serve at Kimmade Streetfood.
Let’s go to the video and see Lazy Penguin’s experiences.
Thank you for having an interview with us Kim Sang! We were very happy to hear the story from the owner himself. Today I will keep this post short, since Lazy Penguin already showed a lot in the video. Here are some photos.
The food is refreshing, crispy, salty, little bit sour (can be more sour for me). The food has a soft taste, but strong herbs; a soothing and healthy meal.

It was so much fun to make and edit a food vlog, so a new video is coming soon. Here are some pre-work stories to show you the process of making a food video.
Before visiting a new restaurant
It’s so fun to search for a restaurant for the next food vlog. First Lazy Pinguin and I decided the city: Utrecht (equal traveling time for the both of us).
Then google: “Restaurant Utrecht” and I get a list of the best places, all 4+ stars. I am more attracted to Asian food, so I choose the Vietnamese restaurant Kimmade. The reviews are praising, so let’s check out their website. Damn, what a beautiful website with soooo pretty food photos. How did they edit them?! I need to learn.
Doesn’t it look tasty? (www.kimmade.nl)
Apparently Kimmade has two locations: Street Food is a small place and Food Village is a restaurant next to the canal.
I can’t wait to film their places and try out the food. Makes me all giddy inside.
Filming day – behind the scenes
This time I wanted to have some visuals of the city, so we walked around to find the two locations. Meanwhile we are filming some street footage and some talking parts to introduce the city and the kind of food we will be eating. This time I have a audio recorder for better sound. The last video had crappy sound from the camera. We filmed a lot of takes to get the perfect sound. In Düsseldorf we did everything in 1 take. But actually it is nicer to have only 1 take, since now I have too many takes to choose from…
