Craving for some fresh seafood in Rotterdam? Try out The Fish Market near Blaak train station and the Markthal. They serve cold and hot fruits de mer, lobster, fresh fried fish and lots of shellfish. You can even choose a swimming fish from their aquarium.
Last week I visited them for the first time with my parents and Lazy Bear and it was really nice. The interior is decorated with wood, sealife decoration and comfortable seats. The food quality was also very high for a reasonable price.
Mom got a cold fruits de mer with all kinds of shellfish. This all was € 27,50. There is also a Royal fruits de mer with lobster.
I had a big plate of mussels. Boiled in salty water with garlic, onion, carrot and celery. Fresh and tasty.
Dad got a lobster pasta. He was very pleased with the al dente texture.
Lazy Bear had fancy salmon with beetroot. Plus fries and salad which are not in the photo.
On my next visit, I will pick the hot Royal fruits de mer, so I will have lots of variations in my food. Only eating mussels became a bit boring, though it was very tasty.
They also have Daily Specials where certain dishes will be cheaper.
