It was so much fun to make and edit a food vlog, so a new video is coming soon. Here are some pre-work stories to show you the process of making a food video.
Before visiting a new restaurant
It’s so fun to search for a restaurant for the next food vlog. First Lazy Pinguin and I decided the city: Utrecht (equal traveling time for the both of us).
Then google: “Restaurant Utrecht” and I get a list of the best places, all 4+ stars. I am more attracted to Asian food, so I choose the Vietnamese restaurant Kimmade. The reviews are praising, so let’s check out their website. Damn, what a beautiful website with soooo pretty food photos. How did they edit them?! I need to learn.
Apparently Kimmade has two locations: Street Food is a small place and Food Village is a restaurant next to the canal.
I can’t wait to film their places and try out the food. Makes me all giddy inside.
Filming day – behind the scenes
This time I wanted to have some visuals of the city, so we walked around to find the two locations. Meanwhile we are filming some street footage and some talking parts to introduce the city and the kind of food we will be eating. This time I have a audio recorder for better sound. The last video had crappy sound from the camera. We filmed a lot of takes to get the perfect sound. In Düsseldorf we did everything in 1 take. But actually it is nicer to have only 1 take, since now I have too many takes to choose from…
